I am learning that horses are extremely emotional animals, with memories that go back a long time. During my case studies, horses have communicated with me that being parted from their loved ones causes them longing and sadness. One gorgeous young horse communicated to me that being in a field next to other horses was not enough for him. He needed the physical contact to feel content and secure. His guardian, who adores him, immediately found him a field mate, and the two of them are so happy now. When I went to visit him – he gave her a huge cuddle of gratitude.
Another beautiful horse that I had the pleasure of working with has gastric ulcers. We offered him a wide selection of herbs, and he made his selections very clearly. They know exactly what they need and don’t need. I made him a blend according to his choices, and his guardian tells me that when he brings the herbs each morning, his horse takes a very deep sniff, then a long exhale, and then he dives in and gobbles them up.
I am learning we can all communicate with animals, more easily than we believe, and that animals have been waiting for us to wake up from this bad dream that we can’t talk to each other. The only downside is that it is so emotionally moving, that I am constantly in tears! But they are beautiful tears of love.
